These kids helped me understand why some species eat their own young!
It’s hard to believe such behaviour is tolerated?
I was just finishing my shopping at the local supermarket and was putting my purchases on the checkout conveyor belt.
Suddenly, something hit me hard in the back and pushed me forward. Milliseconds later I heard someone shout: SHOPLIFTERS! It was too late for me to help, as they’d already passed me.
Them being three kids, one I would guess of fifteen, and two smaller ones, perhaps twelve or thirteen years of age. Immediately, their escape had been prevented by security guards and shop staff.
“Hand it over now!” said the manager and the biggest of the kids SPAT at him and was quick to act physically aggressively as he knew there would be no reprisal. The kids had been shoplifting but were reluctant to part with what they had stolen. They didn’t look hungry, dirty, or poor! No, they were well-padded, with sharp and fresh haircuts, and also well dressed.
These were not stealing for food or because of hunger. They were stealing because they knew the police would not be called. There is no point, as they are too busy to deal with minor crimes. This was the next generation of hooligans.
They also knew they would not get physically injured or restrained because of potential libel suits against minors.
What on earth has a country come to?
Why is such behaviour tolerated?
I presume that their parents must be the same way because apparently this particular group of kids come to the store doing the same thing every couple of days.
These are EXACTLY the sort of kids we never wanted our own children to come into contact, or make friends with.
For that reason, we encouraged them in more wholesome activities.
Both of my children gravitated towards practising judo, and we kept them as busy as they wanted to be.
I think we did the right thing because it’s a very disciplined sport which requires practice and dedication.
As a result of our tough love parenting, they have now become role models to others.
Both are in their twenties and they are world ranked in the sport. My son has already represented GB at the youth Olympics, and my daughter should be heading to the Paris Olympics next year.
I’m not saying our children are without their imperfections. But they are polite and helpful and would not involve themselves in criminality.
I’m so proud of them.
Perhaps all children should be encouraged in a sport?
One which keeps them away from drugs, alcohol, hooliganism and bad company?
Seeing as I was almost pushed over, I felt I have the right to say something, STUPID MISTAKE.
“I’d feel so ashamed if you were my children!” I said with conviction. It was like water off a duck’s back. “F*** off granddad!” Was my reward.
Seriously though, how much further will this be allowed to progress, and how long before this age group start carrying guns and knives?
It has me worried, it really does!
